What is Google Ad Manager?
Google Ad Manager is a hosted ad management solution for publishers with smaller direct sales teams; it can help you sell, schedule, deliver, and measure all of your directly sold and network-based inventory.
Should I use Ad Manager?
You'll probably want to use Ad Manager if:
- You operate a website and sell your ad inventory directly to advertisers (or plan to sell directly to advertisers in the future).
- You'd like to improve the efficiency of your sales process and feel confident in your forecasting.
- You've been left with unsold inventory because you weren't able to forecast availability accurately.
- You need a consistent way to serve ads that make you the most money in undersold situations.
- A simple, intuitive user interface: you can manage your campaigns, inventory, and advertiser data quickly and efficiently.
- Revenue optimization and AdSense integration: the system will consistently deliver the highest-paying ad for every ad impression on your site.
- Precise inventory forecasting: you'll be able to sell more of your inventory without overbooking it.
Using AdSense with Ad Manager on your websites can help you maximize your revenue in a number of ways. You can use AdSense to backfill all of your unsold inventory, ensuring that all of your ad spaces are filled. AdSense can also be used as a competing network against your other networks -- AdSense can compete with your remnant and house campaigns to deliver the highest value ads, and an AdSense ad will only show if it can pay you more than any alternative ads.
Moreover, since AdSense is integrated in your Ad Manager account, the only thing you need to do is to choose the Ad Slots for which you want to enable AdSense. You can modify your AdSense settings within Ad Manager, and you can manage your visibility to advertisers by using the placement targeting feature.
How do I get started with Ad Manager?
You can create an account by visiting the Ad Manager homepage and using your AdSense login. Once you've done so, don't forget to visit our Help Center for detailed instructions and video tutorials on getting started. We also recommend taking a look at how Ad Manager works.

Reports have gone international
If you're located in one of these five countries and make this update, we'll convert your earnings to Euros on a daily basis using the prevailing market rate from the previous day. With earnings converted daily, you'll avoid the risk of currency exchange fluctuations between USD and the Euro. You can still choose to receive payments in either Euros or U.S. Dollars and select from a range of payment methods as well.
To make the switch to local currency reports, you'll need to agree to a new set of Terms and Conditions. Here are the main changes involved:
- The party that publishers are contracting with changes from Google Inc. to Google Ireland Limited.
- Publishers are responsible for paying any local taxes in their jurisdiction. Google will only issue VAT refunds to publishers with an address in Ireland.
- The governing law changes from California law to either English or local law.
Before agreeing to the new Terms, we also recommend that you download and save copies of your past reports in U.S. Dollars for your records. Once you update your account, you'll be able to view current and historical reports only in Euros. However, you'll still be able to view your prior payment history of U.S. Dollar earnings.
We encourage you to update your account to local currency reports soon, as we may require this change in the future. If we're able to offer this to publishers in other countries, we'll provide details here on Inside AdSense. For more information, please feel free to visit our Help Center.

Get Goghing with AdSense for search
VanGoghGallery.com is an art resource site that provides information about the life and work of Vincent van Gogh. Site owner Greg Alexander runs the Van Gogh Gallery to educate and share information about the artist, and has also used the site to explore new Internet marketing techniques. Greg joined AdSense in 2007, and although he didn't know much about the program at first, he found it "a great opportunity to generate some revenue without spending the effort to sell ads." He also tried other ad providers, "but none of them yielded the results that AdSense did. In addition, AdSense was the only one that provided relevant ads for our visitors."
To help users navigate through the many pages of the Van Gogh Gallery, Greg added an AdSense for search box to the right column of his pages. By enabling SiteSearch and displaying search results on his own pages, he was able to help users find what they were looking for while staying on his site.
As an optimization experiment, Greg recently moved his search box to the center column of his pages and extended it to twice its original width.
Before
After
In addition, Greg made slight changes to the search results pages -- he removed the borders from the ads and search results, and added a new search box to the search results pages. According to Greg, "altogether, these changes took less than 15 minutes to do."
After making these updates, Greg noticed a dramatic and immediate increase in the usage of search on the Van Gogh Gallery. He found that "the number of queries performed each day increased 8 to 10 times, and search ad clicks and revenues increased even more." His search earnings quickly grew from less than a dollar a day to double digits since his optimization test. "Now we frequently receive more search ad clicks than our total number of searches pre-optimization," says Greg. "I'm still amazed at how simple changes can have such an incredible impact."
Greg has started using the earnings from his AdSearch optimization efforts to build and host additional websites about other artists. "Ultimately," Greg says,"we hope to use the earnings to fund research trips to Europe to see the works of the masters and expand the quality of information we offer visitors to our sites."

What is AdSense and How Do I Make The Most of It?
Wednesday, May 27, 2009
What Is google adsense? It is a program in which website owners can use programs within Google and Yahoo to enable text, video ads, and banners on their sites. Google or Yahoo receive revenue by impression basis pay per clicks or cost per action based services. AdSense is a good advertising platform for smaller sites with relatively little resources for sales programs but should not be overlooked by others. adsense website earn money
How Does AdSense Work?
The webmaster inserts Java Script code into a web page. This is used to place ads onto the page. When a page with an AdSense tag is visited Java Script creates an iframe and sets its "src" attribute to the pages' URL.
For advertisements that are contextual in manners Google servers use a cache of the page. Then they determine a set of high value keywords. If these keywords have already been cached the advertisement that is used for the keywords, is based upon the AdWords bidding system.
For site targeted ad sites the advertiser chooses which pages or pages, to display advertisements on. They pay per impression or per what the advertisers choose to pay.
For search ads they are added to the list of results after a user searches the site within the search box. Revenue made is shared between Google and the website owner. The advertisement must be clicked on.
Mobile Content is a way for the publisher to generate earnings from their mobile WebPages using targeted Google ads. Google matches ads to the content of your mobile website.
However this was just recently posted several places and should be read in its entirety:
XHTML Compatibility
HTML code for the AdSense search box does not validate as XHTML, and does not follow modern principles of website design:
• non-standard closing tags such as and
• the boolean (minimized) attribute checked rather than checked="checked"
• presentational attributes other than id, class, or style, such as bgcolor and align
• a table structure used for purely presentational (non-tabular) purposes
• the font tag
There has been found a way around this by creating a normal html site containing only the AdSense ads units and then importing then into the xhtml document with an object tag.
For referrals Google will add money to an advertisers account when a visitor downloads a referred service or product.
According to the Google AdSense Articles found at: http://google.com/AdSense,You should follow the steps bellow to generate more revenue:
Visit the AdSense Setup tab and choosing Referrals as the product.
Tips for successful referrals for non-Google products:
• Choose sub-categories for better targeting. When using non-Google referrals, you can more narrowly control the ads that display on your site by selecting sub-categories. For example, if you have a website about car loans, simply select the sub-category "Auto Financing" to receive ads related to that topic. Selecting sub-categories improves your ad targeting and can also increase your referrals earnings.
• Designate back-up ads for your ad slots. Even if you know which ad you'd like to display on your site, it's always best to have other ads to display if that specific ad becomes unavailable. By adding categories or keywords to your ad shopping cart, you can be sure that relevant ads will always show on your site, though Google will always display your specific ad choice when available.
• Try displaying only image-based ads. With our revamped referral units, you can opt to show only image ads. For some publishers, image ads match the look and feel of their sites better than text ads. Choosing to show just image-based ads does limit your available ad inventory, but you may prefer its aesthetic appeal on your pages.
Reporting
New to Google AdSense's is a report to track the link URL's separately from other AdSense, for content units. These statistics show click throughs and per link CTR.
To view these report go the the Reports Tab.
Select AdSense for Content
Choose URL's
The Combined Report will look like what you have been use to seeing (is you already use AdSense), as far as content reports.
Choose Add Reports of Link Units for more clarity into reports.
Google is not the only one with AdSense. Yahoo also does.
Development
Development begins with content that is of value thus attracting AdSense ads which in turn payout the most when clicked upon.
Using traffic techniques that generate many different responses that are not just limited to advertising online is all part of development.
Remember to use sponsored links and advertisement phrases on the website to encourage the visitor to click on the advertisements.
To Maximize Your Profits
Always begin by:
Writing proficiently
Keep on topic
Show Your Knowledge on the subject
In positioning the ad:
When users are focusing on a particular article they are reading it is better to place the ad at the bottom of the page.
You must think about the content and how the reader will react to a particular page. In some instances, an advertisement above the fold is better and in turn receives more hits. These are those that are near rich context and navigational aids.
Keep in mind that dark orange overall gives the strongest performance while light yellow gives the weakest performance. You need to blend your colors though with the background of your article or blog, with the ad. Use bold borders around the advertisement.
Take your advertisement and customize it to resemble your website. This brings a flow between your ads and your website.
Many top marketers have found that the large rectangle format for ads get more clicks.Last, but certainly not least, put your keywords in your title of your blog.

How much can I make with AdSense and how do I
This is final series about adsense that you should know if you want to start make money online with google adsense.
You’ve seen the nutty claims by so-called “internet experts” that strategies and
programs they have devised enable surfers to earn hundred even thousand of dollars each days! Or a hour!! No such thing
.
However, there are several lucrative programs in making money online that can provide an extremely generate income with your little effort – Google AdSense is absolutely one of them.
But never think to make all instant cause it takes some time, and it takes some planning, and some great idea, like anything real does. The rest of our report is all about unlocking that potential how you can earn ton of dollar in google adsense program.
To start understanding make money with adsense potential, think about how you make money with this program. Each time someone clicks an ad on your pages, you get a percentage of what Google is paid for placing that ad.
Adsense revenue from ads
= Clickthrough value of the ad * Payout Rate * Clickthrough rate of the
Ad * Webpage traffic * Frequency of Ad
In the above equation,
Clickthrough value is the amount the advertiser pays per click for the Ad (this figure varies);
the Payout Rate is the percentage of revenue to be paid for every click fixed by Google (this figure varies);
Clickthrough rate is simply the number of times ad is clicked on in a certain period of time divided by the number of times it is displayed during the same period;
Webpage traffic is the number of visitors to your website; and
Frequency of Ad is the number of times this particular ad appears on your webpage.
Let’s put some figures into the above equation and see what the adsense income is.
The figures below are for a single day:
Clickthrough Value 15 cents or $0.15 (The advertiser pays 15
cents per click for the Ad, to Google by adwords program)
Payout Rate 50% or 0.5 (This is an assumption based on what
many experts believe to be the current payout rate for most
deals)
Clickthrough rate of the Ad the ad is displayed 100 times
within the day and clicked by 9 people the clickthrough rate
would be 0.09
Webpage traffic 150 visitors during the days
Frequency of Ad 100
The income per day from a single ad would be = 0.15 * 0.5 * 0.09
* 150 * 100
= $101.5
If you consider this to be the average income per day, the total revenue
generated within a month would be more than $3000. WOW, This is incredible,
considering you basically did nothing to earn that adsense money.
We know of cases where people have earned more than $25,000 a month with AdSense, which is a large sum to anyone. But in the fact a lot of people don’t too.
my goal is to equip you to get started on the road to making money with
AdSense.

Google adsense program - choose your ad type
After you knew how google adsense ads get on you site. and then you should know about Google AdSense programs so you can Choose your ad type! and make money live on adsense.
Google adsense currently offers three adsense programs:
AdSense for Content,
AdSense for Search,
and Premium AdSense.
AdSense for Content
AdSense for Content is the main AdSense program – contextually targeted ads
are displayed on your webpage, and you get paid for every click. These ads are
specifically targeted to the content of your webpage. Consequently, if you change
the content of your page, the ads that are displayed would also change. AdSense
allows you good control over what ads get served, since there might be some
obvious problems if it didn’t. These include:
Blocking Ads – you choose
While the ad selection is automatic, you can block unwanted ads – such as those
from your competitors. You just tell Google which companies to block from your
sites.
Reviewing and filtering Ads – semi-automatic
Google has its own strict policies for ad content (no profanity, no racial
discrimination, etc). These are filtered out automatically from your point of view.
Additionally, you can choose to block additional content through custom filters.
This is slightly different than blocking an advertiser, since with this method an
advertiser you generally allow may submit ads that would individually be filtered
out.
Allowing the publisher to select an ad
In the rare case where Google’s content engines can’t make a clear match of ads
to pages, they will let you pick which ads you want served. If you don’t pick, you’ll
get public service spots.
The look-and-feel of Ads can be customized
Ads shouldn’t look out of place or be jarring on your website. Google allows you
to customize colors and layout. You can choose options provided or have your
own custom layout and color applied to the ads. The advertisers have no control
over this; as the material appears on your site, you can and should select how it
looks.
Tools for analysis
Tracking and analyzing the performance of any marketing campaign is critical.
Google AdSense provides a range of comprehensive online reports that allow
you to monitor and analyze your earnings as well as the performance of ads by
many metrics, including size, color, and so forth, so you can make adjustments to
maximize the value of the placements.
AdSense for Search
This is another program whereby Google allows you to add a Google Search box
to your website. By doing this, visitors to your site can search the entire internet
from your website itself. In a way, your site becomes a host to Google. Except
you make money!
The search results page that is displayed when a visitor on your website
searches through the search box on the site itself, also displays Google Ads
(AdWords ads<) next to the usual listings, just as it would on Google.com. If the
visitor clicks on any of these Google Ads, you get paid as well. Thus, with
AdSense for Search you can enhance your income potential beyond what just
the content of your actual site can provide.
AdSense for Search offers all the same options and controls as AdSense for
Content. These include ad customization, ad filtering, monitoring and tracking
results, and so on.
Google AdSense Premium service
The AdSense Premium service provides advanced functionality and features,
provided your website qualifies for it – which in fact very few sites do.
As a base requirement, your website should receive at least 5 million search
queries or 20 million page views a month to qualify for the Premium service.
(We’re betting if your sites qualify for this level of service, you already know all
about AdSense!)
Finaly choose you better ad type, and start making money online with adsense.
